Wheel of life
Where are you right now, and where would you like to go?
Before you decide what should change, take a look at where you are right now. Rate eight areas of your life the way you experience them today, and the way you wish them to be. Your wheel shows where a closer look is worthwhile.
- About ten minutes
- On your own, or as a couple if you like
- Just for you, to begin with
How it works
Three steps, about ten minutes
To begin with, this is not about changing anything, but about seeing how things are right now. Take the first number that comes to mind.
Now · How is it today?
How satisfied are you with this area today? 0 means not at all, 10 means completely. What counts is how you experience it.
Wish · How would you like it to be?
Where would you like to be in about a year? Not every area has to be a 10.
Gap · Where is a closer look worthwhile?
The evaluation shows where now and wish lie furthest apart. Which area you then look at more closely is up to you.
Filling it in as a couple
You can also use the wheel as a couple: each of you fills it in separately, and the evaluation lays both wheels over each other. To begin with, your own wheel is enough.
What a finished wheel looks like
A completed wheel with its evaluation, clearly marked as an example. Your own entries stay untouched.
Your wheel
Eight areas of your life
Still empty. It fills up with every slider you move.
- Now: how you experience the area today.
- Wish: how you would like it to be.
- From 0 (not satisfied at all) to 10 (completely satisfied).

3 · What comes next
Two paths, both open
You can continue the journey even without a finished wheel.
Onward on the journey: Mindfulness
What do you notice, in yourself and around you?
Mindfulness helps you notice earlier in everyday life when an area gets too little attention. That is what the second step is about.
Six statements, three questions, about five minutes.
Talking about the result in coaching
What do you see when someone looks with you?
If you would rather not look at your wheel alone: bring it along to the free introductory meeting. Together we look at the area you have chosen. It is not a must for the journey; you can just as well continue it on your own.
