The responsible party is the natural or legal person who alone or jointly with others decides on the purposes and means of processing personal data (e.g. names, email addresses, etc.).
Storage Period
Unless a more specific storage period has been stated within this Privacy Policy, your personal data will remain with us until the purpose for the data processing ceases to apply. If you assert a legitimate request for deletion or revoke consent to data processing, your data will be deleted, unless we have other legally permissible reasons for storing your personal data (e.g. retention periods under tax or commercial law); in the latter case, deletion will take place after these reasons cease to apply.
General Information on the Legal Bases of Data Processing on This Website
If you have consented to the data processing, we process your personal data on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR or Art. 9 para. 2 lit. a GDPR, insofar as special categories of data under Art. 9 para. 1 GDPR are processed. In the case of explicit consent to the transfer of personal data to third countries, the data processing is additionally carried out on the basis of Art. 49 para. 1 lit. a GDPR. If you have consented to the storage of cookies or to the access to information on your terminal device (e.g. via device fingerprinting), the data processing is additionally carried out on the basis of § 25 para. 1 TDDDG. The consent can be revoked at any time. If your data is required for the fulfilment of a contract or for the performance of pre-contractual measures, we process your data on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR. Furthermore, we process your data insofar as it is required for the fulfilment of a legal obligation on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c GDPR. The data processing may also be carried out on the basis of our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. Information about the relevant legal bases in each individual case is provided in the following paragraphs of this Privacy Policy.
Information on Data Transfer to Third Countries That Are Not Secure Under Data Protection Law and on Transfer to US Companies That Are Not DPF-Certified
Among other things, we use tools from companies based in third countries that are not secure under data protection law, as well as US tools whose providers are not certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF). If these tools are active, your personal data may be transferred to these countries and processed there. We point out that in third countries that are not secure under data protection law, no level of data protection comparable to the EU can be guaranteed.
We point out that the USA, as a secure third country, generally has a level of data protection comparable to the EU. A data transfer to the USA is therefore permissible if the recipient holds a certification under the „EU-US Data Privacy Framework“ (DPF) or has appropriate additional safeguards. You can find information on transfers to third countries, including the data recipients, in this Privacy Policy.
Recipients of Personal Data
In the course of our business activities, we work with various external parties. In some cases, this also requires the transfer of personal data to these external parties. We pass on personal data to external parties only where this is required in the course of fulfilling a contract, where we are legally obliged to do so (e.g. transfer of data to tax authorities), where we have a legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR in the transfer, or where another legal basis permits the data transfer. When using processors, we pass on personal data of our customers only on the basis of a valid order processing agreement. In the case of joint processing, an agreement on joint processing is concluded.
Revocation of Your Consent to Data Processing
Many data processing operations are only possible with your explicit consent. You can revoke consent already given at any time. The lawfulness of the data processing carried out up to the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.
Right to Object to Data Collection in Special Cases and to Direct Marketing (Art. 21 GDPR)
IF THE DATA PROCESSING IS BASED ON ART. 6 PARA. 1 LIT. E OR F GDPR, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT AT ANY TIME TO OBJECT, ON GROUNDS RELATING TO YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION, TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING BASED ON THESE PROVISIONS. YOU CAN FIND THE RESPECTIVE LEGAL BASIS ON WHICH PROCESSING IS BASED IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU OBJECT, WE WILL NO LONGER PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA CONCERNED, UNLESS WE CAN DEMONSTRATE COMPELLING LEGITIMATE GROUNDS FOR THE PROCESSING WHICH OVERRIDE YOUR INTERESTS, RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS, OR THE PROCESSING SERVES THE ESTABLISHMENT, EXERCISE OR DEFENCE OF LEGAL CLAIMS (OBJECTION PURSUANT TO ART. 21 PARA. 1 GDPR).
IF YOUR PERSONAL DATA IS PROCESSED FOR THE PURPOSE OF DIRECT MARKETING, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT AT ANY TIME TO THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA CONCERNING YOU FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUCH MARKETING; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING INSOFAR AS IT IS CONNECTED WITH SUCH DIRECT MARKETING. IF YOU OBJECT, YOUR PERSONAL DATA WILL SUBSEQUENTLY NO LONGER BE USED FOR THE PURPOSE OF DIRECT MARKETING (OBJECTION PURSUANT TO ART. 21 PARA. 2 GDPR).
Right to Lodge a Complaint with the Competent Supervisory Authority
In the event of breaches of the GDPR, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of their habitual residence, their place of work or the place of the alleged breach. The right to lodge a complaint exists without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedies.
Right to Data Portability
You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in fulfilment of a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a common, machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only be done insofar as it is technically feasible.
Information, Rectification and Deletion
Within the framework of the applicable statutory provisions, you have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the data processing and, where applicable, a right to rectification or deletion of this data. You can contact us at any time regarding this and any further questions on the subject of personal data.
Right to Restriction of Processing
You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. You can contact us at any time regarding this. The right to restriction of processing exists in the following cases:
- If you dispute the accuracy of your personal data stored by us, we generally need time to verify this. For the duration of the verification, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
- If the processing of your personal data was/is unlawful, you can request the restriction of data processing instead of deletion.
- If we no longer need your personal data, but you require it for the exercise, defence or assertion of legal claims, you have the right, instead of deletion, to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
- If you have lodged an objection pursuant to Art. 21 para. 1 GDPR, a balancing of your and our interests must be carried out. As long as it has not yet been determined whose interests prevail, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, this data may – apart from being stored – only be processed with your consent or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of an important public interest of the European Union or of a Member State.
SSL or TLS Encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or enquiries that you send to us as the site operator, this site uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from „http://“ to „https://“ and by the lock symbol in your browser line.
If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data that you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
Objection to Advertising Emails
The use of contact data published within the framework of the legal notice obligation for the purpose of sending advertising and information material not expressly requested is hereby objected to. The operators of the pages expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of the unsolicited sending of advertising information, for example by spam emails.
4. Data Collection on This Website
Cookies
Our internet pages use so-called „cookies“. Cookies are small data packets and cause no damage to your terminal device. They are stored on your terminal device either temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (permanent cookies). Session cookies are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Permanent cookies remain stored on your terminal device until you delete them yourself or an automatic deletion is carried out by your web browser.
Cookies may originate from us (first-party cookies) or from third-party companies (so-called third-party cookies). Third-party cookies enable the integration of certain services of third-party companies within websites (e.g. cookies for processing payment services).
Cookies have various functions. Numerous cookies are technically necessary, as certain website functions would not work without them (e.g. the shopping cart function or the display of videos). Other cookies may be used to evaluate user behaviour or for advertising purposes.
Cookies that are necessary to carry out the electronic communication process, to provide certain functions desired by you (e.g. for the shopping cart function) or to optimise the website (e.g. cookies for measuring the web audience) (necessary cookies) are stored on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR, unless another legal basis is specified. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the storage of necessary cookies for the technically error-free and optimised provision of its services. If consent to the storage of cookies and comparable recognition technologies has been requested, the processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of this consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR and § 25 para. 1 TDDDG); the consent can be revoked at any time.
You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when the browser is closed. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be restricted.
You can find out which cookies and services are used on this website in this Privacy Policy.
Server Log Files
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:
- browser type and browser version
- operating system used
- referrer URL
- host name of the accessing computer
- time of the server request
- IP address
This data is not merged with other data sources.
This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and the optimisation of its website – for this the server log files must be collected.
Contact Form
If you send us enquiries via the contact form, your details from the enquiry form, including the contact data you provide there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data without your consent.
The processing of this data is carried out on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR, insofar as your enquiry is connected with the fulfilment of a contract or is required for the performance of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, the processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective processing of the enquiries addressed to us (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) insofar as this has been requested; the consent can be revoked at any time.
The data you enter in the contact form will remain with us until you request its deletion, revoke your consent to its storage or the purpose for storing the data ceases to apply (e.g. after completed processing of your enquiry). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.
Enquiry by Email, Phone or Fax
If you contact us by email, phone or fax, your enquiry, including all the personal data arising from it (name, enquiry), will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your concern.
The data you send us via contact enquiries will remain with us until you request its deletion, revoke your consent to its storage or the purpose for storing the data ceases to apply (e.g. after completed processing of your concern). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular statutory retention periods – remain unaffected.
5. Social Media
On this website we use elements of the social network Pinterest, which is operated by Pinterest Europe Ltd., Palmerston House, 2nd Floor, Fenian Street, Dublin 2, Ireland.
If you call up a page that contains such an element, your browser establishes a direct connection to the servers of Pinterest. In doing so, this social media element transmits log data to the server of Pinterest in the USA. This log data may possibly contain your IP address, the address of the visited websites that also contain Pinterest functions, the type and settings of the browser, the date and time of the request, your manner of using Pinterest as well as cookies.
The use of this service is based on your consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR and § 25 para. 1 TDDDG. The consent can be revoked at any time.
You can find further information on the purpose, scope and further processing and use of the data by Pinterest as well as your rights in this regard and options for protecting your privacy in the data protection notices of Pinterest: https://policy.pinterest.com/de/privacy-policy.
6. Newsletter
Newsletter Data
If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require from you an email address as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the specified email address and that you agree to receive the newsletter. No further data is collected, or only on a voluntary basis. We use this data exclusively for sending the requested information and do not pass it on to third parties.
The processing of the data entered in the newsletter registration form is carried out exclusively on the basis of your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You can revoke the consent given to the storage of the data, the email address as well as its use for sending the newsletter at any time, for example via the „unsubscribe“ link in the newsletter. The lawfulness of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.
The data you have stored with us for the purpose of receiving the newsletter will be stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter with us or the newsletter service provider, and will be deleted from the newsletter distribution list after you unsubscribe from the newsletter or after the purpose ceases to apply. We reserve the right to delete or block email addresses from our newsletter distribution list at our own discretion within the framework of our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR.
Data that has been stored with us for other purposes remains unaffected by this.
After you have unsubscribed from the newsletter distribution list, your email address will, where applicable, be stored by us or the newsletter service provider in a blacklist, insofar as this is necessary to prevent future mailings. The data from the blacklist is used only for this purpose and is not merged with other data. This serves both your interest and our interest in compliance with the statutory requirements when sending newsletters (legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR). The storage in the blacklist is not limited in time. You can object to the storage, insofar as your interests outweigh our legitimate interest.
7. Plugins and Tools
YouTube with Enhanced Privacy
This website embeds videos from the YouTube website. The operator of the website is Google Ireland Limited („Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
If you visit one of these websites on which YouTube is embedded, a connection is established to the servers of YouTube. In doing so, the YouTube server is informed which of our pages you have visited. If you are logged in to your YouTube account, you enable YouTube to assign your browsing behaviour directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.
We use YouTube in enhanced privacy mode. Videos that are played in enhanced privacy mode are, according to YouTube, not used to personalise browsing on YouTube. Adverts that are displayed in enhanced privacy mode are likewise not personalised. In enhanced privacy mode, no cookies are set. Instead, however, so-called local storage elements are stored in the user's browser, which, similarly to cookies, contain personal data and can be used for recognition. You can find details on enhanced privacy mode here: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/171780.
Where applicable, further data processing operations may be triggered after the activation of a YouTube video, over which we have no influence.
The use of YouTube is in the interest of an appealing presentation of our online offers. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. If a corresponding consent has been requested, the processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR and § 25 para. 1 TDDDG, insofar as the consent includes the storage of cookies or the access to information on the terminal device of the user (e.g. device fingerprinting) within the meaning of the TDDDG. The consent can be revoked at any time.
You can find further information on data protection at YouTube in their Privacy Policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de.
The company holds a certification under the „EU-US Data Privacy Framework“ (DPF). The DPF is an agreement between the European Union and the USA which is intended to ensure compliance with European data protection standards for data processing in the USA. Every company certified under the DPF undertakes to comply with these data protection standards. You can obtain further information on this from the provider at the following link: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/participant/5780.
Google Fonts (Local Hosting)
For the uniform display of fonts, this site uses so-called Google Fonts, which are provided by Google. The Google Fonts are installed locally. A connection to Google's servers does not take place in the process.
You can find further information on Google Fonts at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in the Privacy Policy of Google: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de.
Font Awesome (Local Hosting)
For the uniform display of fonts, this site uses Font Awesome. Font Awesome is installed locally. A connection to the servers of Fonticons, Inc. does not take place in the process.
You can find further information on Font Awesome in the Privacy Policy for Font Awesome at: https://fontawesome.com/privacy.
OpenStreetMap
We use the map service of OpenStreetMap (OSM).
We embed the map material of OpenStreetMap from the server of the OpenStreetMap Foundation, St John’s Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge, CB4 0WS, Great Britain. Great Britain is considered a third country that is secure under data protection law. This means that Great Britain has a level of data protection that corresponds to the level of data protection in the European Union. When using the OpenStreetMap maps, a connection is established to the servers of the OpenStreetMap Foundation. In doing so, among other things, your IP address and further information about your behaviour on this website may be forwarded to the OSMF. For this purpose, OpenStreetMap may, under certain circumstances, store cookies in your browser or use comparable recognition technologies.
The use of OpenStreetMap is in the interest of an appealing presentation of our online offers and of making the locations indicated by us on the website easy to find.
Web Analytics, Monitoring and Optimisation
Web analytics (also referred to as „reach measurement“) serves to evaluate the visitor flows of our online offer and may comprise behaviour, interests or demographic information about the visitors, such as for example age or gender, as pseudonymous values. With the help of reach analysis, we can, for example, recognise at what time our online offer or its functions or content are most frequently used, or invite reuse. Likewise, it is possible for us to understand which areas require optimisation.
In addition to web analytics, we may also use test procedures, for example to test and optimise different versions of our online offer or its components.
Unless otherwise stated below, profiles, that is data combined into a usage operation, may be created for these purposes and information may be stored in a browser or in a terminal device and then read out. The information collected includes in particular visited websites and elements used there as well as technical information, such as for example the browser used, the computer system used as well as information on usage times. If users have given their consent to the collection of their location data to us or to the providers of the services we use, the processing of location data is also possible.
In addition, the IP addresses of the users are stored. However, we use an IP masking procedure (i.e. pseudonymisation by truncating the IP address) to protect the users. In general, no plain data of the users (such as e.g. email addresses or names) is stored within the framework of web analytics, A/B testing and optimisation, but rather pseudonyms. This means that we, as well as the providers of the software used, do not know the actual identity of the users, but only the information stored in their profiles for the purpose of the respective procedures.
Notes on legal bases: Insofar as we ask the users for their consent to the use of the third-party providers, the legal basis of the data processing is the consent. Otherwise, the user data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interests (i.e. interest in efficient, economical and recipient-friendly services). In this context, we would also like to draw your attention to the information on the use of cookies in this Privacy Policy.
- Types of data processed: usage data (e.g. page views and time spent, click paths, intensity and frequency of use, device types and operating systems used, interactions with content and functions). Meta, communication and procedural data (e.g. IP addresses, time stamps, identification numbers, involved persons).
- Data subjects: users (e.g. website visitors, users of online services).
- Purposes of the processing: reach measurement (e.g. access statistics, recognition of returning visitors); profiles with user-related information (creation of user profiles). Provision of our online offer and user-friendliness.
- Retention and deletion: deletion in accordance with the information in the section "General Information on Data Storage and Deletion". Storage of cookies of up to 2 years (Unless otherwise stated, cookies and similar storage methods may be stored for a period of two years on the users' devices.).
- Security measures: IP masking (pseudonymisation of the IP address).
- Legal bases: consent (Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a) GDPR). Legitimate interests (Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f) GDPR).
Further information on processing operations, procedures and services:
- Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to measure and analyse the use of our online offer on the basis of a pseudonymous user identification number. This identification number contains no unique data, such as names or email addresses. It serves to assign analysis information to a terminal device, in order to recognise which content the users have called up within one or various usage operations, which search terms they have used, have called up again or have interacted with our online offer. Likewise, the time of use and its duration are stored, as well as the sources of the users that refer to our online offer and technical aspects of their terminal devices and browsers.
In doing so, pseudonymous profiles of users are created with information from the use of different devices, whereby cookies may be used. Google Analytics does not log and store individual IP addresses for EU users. However, Analytics provides rough geographical location data by deriving the following metadata from IP addresses: city (and the derived latitude and longitude of the city), continent, country, region, subcontinent (and ID-based counterparts). For EU traffic, the IP address data is used exclusively for this derivation of geolocation data before it is immediately deleted. It is not logged, is not accessible and is not used for further purposes. When Google Analytics collects measurement data, all IP queries are carried out on EU-based servers before the traffic is forwarded to Analytics servers for processing; service provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland; legal bases: consent (Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. a) GDPR); website: https://marketingplatform.google.com/intl/de/about/analytics/; security measures: IP masking (pseudonymisation of the IP address); privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy; order processing agreement: https://business.safety.google/adsprocessorterms/; basis for third-country transfers: Data Privacy Framework (DPF); objection option (opt-out): opt-out plugin: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de, settings for the display of advert insertions: https://myadcenter.google.com/personalizationoff. Further information: https://business.safety.google/adsservices/ (types of processing as well as the data processed).
